Candle Care

Congratulations on your purchase! To ensure you get the most enjoyment from your LubriLuxe candles, please follow these simple care instructions.

1. Safety First

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended. Always keep candles within sight, especially when burning them in a room with children or pets.
  • Keep candles away from flammable objects, such as curtains, paper, or other materials.
  • Place candles on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Avoid placing them near drafts, vents, or on uneven surfaces.

2. Initial Lighting

  • Trim the wick before lighting. The wick should be approximately 1/4 inch long. This helps prevent excessive flickering and soot formation.
  • Light the candle using a long match or lighter to avoid burning your fingers.

3. Burning Instructions

  • Allow the candle to burn long enough for the wax to melt evenly across the surface. This helps prevent tunneling and ensures the candle burns evenly.
  • Burn your candle for at least 1 hour for every inch in diameter. For example, a 3-inch diameter candle should burn for at least 3 hours to achieve an even melt pool.
  • Avoid burning the candle for more than 4 hours at a time to prevent overheating and to prolong the life of the candle.

4. Wick Maintenance

  • Trim the wick regularly to maintain a steady flame and prevent soot. Trim the wick to 1/4 inch before each use.
  • Remove any wick debris from the wax surface to ensure a clean burn.

5. Wax Care

  • Do not burn the candle all the way down. Leave at least 1/2 inch of wax at the bottom to avoid overheating the candle holder.
  • If the candle starts to smoke or flicker, extinguish it, trim the wick, and relight.

6. Extinguishing the Candle

  • Use a candle snuffer to extinguish the flame. This helps prevent wax splatters and minimizes smoke.
  • Avoid blowing out the candle, as this can cause smoke and a messy wax pool.

7. Storing Your Candle

  • Store candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent fading and warping.
  • Keep the candle covered to protect it from dust and other contaminants.

8. Reuse and Repurpose

  • Once the candle is finished, you can repurpose the jar or container. Clean it with warm, soapy water and reuse it for storage or decoration.

9. Handling Spills

  • If wax spills, clean it up promptly. Allow the wax to harden, then gently scrape it off with a non-abrasive tool. For any residual wax, use a warm, soapy cloth.

Enjoy your LubriLuxe candles and the warmth and luxury they bring to your space!
